Solar Power Mart offers a variety of traning programs designed to help everyone learn more about Solar Energy. Whether you are just starting out or you plan to install a system, we can help you gain the knowledge you'll need. Using a combination of Solar Power Mart staff and industry experts we cover everything from basic energy efficiency concepts to solar electric and solar applications. The classes are held regularly at our Klang Valley location. Take a training program today to help you in your quest for clean Solar Energy!
With the droping of solar panel prices and climate change, don’t wait to invest in solar! This lecture class is for the public and industry considering an investment in a solar electric system who wants to be well informed. You’ll learn a lot about this hot topic and we’ll help you understand the basics of how a solar electric system works, how to establish how many solar panels you’ll need in your array and the approximate costs. You will leave this class knowing how to estimate the array wattage for a PV system; and how to estimate production and system cost. We encourage (but don’t require) you to bring a copy of your utility bill as we will review household power usage issues during the class.
By the end of this class, you should understand:

This course is intended to introduce a potential PV installer to the important aspects of selecting a good site for a PV system and the basics of PV system components. We have designed this course to be the first class in a series that will establish a solid informed foundation on which you as a system installer can build. This class will touch on both battery based (stand alone) systems and utility-interactive (grid tied) systems. Although it is primarily a lecture class, there are several labs that offer the opportunity to use equipment. By the end of this class you should feel comfortable conducting a site evaluation; understand how to make component selections; understand how to size the major components of a PV system: PV array, battery bank, inverter and charge controller.

Once you have successfully completed your PV301 Class, you’ll be ready to dive deeper into system design. This three day course encompasses lecture, practicum design examples and hands-on lab work. You’ll focus on how to size major components for both battery based and utility-interactive PV systems. By the end of this class you should be able to demonstrate how to size PV system components, including wiring and overcurrent protection; assemble different mounting systems; and wire appropriate strings of modules.
